Toothpaste for pimples
You have probably tried this at some point putting a little bit of toothpaste on a pimple in the hope it will disappear. Did it work? Well the answer is well, sometimes. That said it is not a long-term acne cure as you have probably suffered from further out breaks. Also it is hardly a workable solution to cover your face with toothpaste!
Applying toothpaste to a spot is useful short term solution that can ease the out-break and offer a soothing experience. If you have sensitive skin or particular severe acne then no amount of toothpaste will likely help.
We should highlight that not all toothpaste is the same and so results most likely vary according to the type you use!
If you do wish to try using toothpaste to get rid of your pimples then you should first wash your face thoroughly. Make sure you hands and clean also as you do not wish to apply toothpaste and introduce infection from your fingers. Interfering with spots and cause further problems, especially by squeezing them! Next put a little toothpaste onto the affected area and leave it to dry and then leave it. Keeping it on overnight is a good idea and then in the morning you can gently wash it off without attempting to break the spot.
Applying toothpaste could reduce the swelling temporarily and reduce the redness. It will unlikely cure the spot but certainly could offer some temporary relief.
To really sort out your acne breakouts you need something stronger. You can find a number of over the counter acne treatments that can provide a safe and effective way of sorting out your acne.
So in answer to our question: does toothpaste get rid of pimples, the answer is probably no but it could ease your suffering and offer some temporary relief.
