pop pimples

As a teenager you probably remember your parents always telling you to stop popping your pimples. You probably thought at the time it was just nagging but all advice pretty much suggest you should not pop pimples.

Even though most of us know we shouldn't do you know why not?

Touching and interfering with spots and pimples can make them worse as you can easily spread bacteria further. In fact popping a pimple can risk pushing the bacteria further into the skin leading to even worse infection!

That said, it can be embarrassing meeting friends when your face is covered with pimples. Unless you have a severe acne condition, in which case you should probably consult your doctor for advice, mild or moderate acne can be treated by using over the counter acne treatments.

If you feel you giving into the impulse to pop your pimples then the best way to do this is to do it after a shower. At this time your skin is more supple and you should be clean and lessen the risk of spreading any bacteria on the surface of your skin.

Get a sewing needle and ensure its disinfected and gently prick the surface of the pimple. Place your fingers on either side of the pimple and gently squeeze from both sides. Do this slowly and do not put too much pressure, you want the pus to go out and not further into your skin! Once you see a clear fluid (pus) or blood stop and clean it off thoroughly and then leave it.

A much better approach to getting rid of your pimples is to apply natural medication that can work to reduce and heal the pimple. The good quality acne products balance your skin PH and do not dry out your skin but hydrate it and can improve your overall complexion. Of course they can combat the bacteria that is causing the pimples in the first place without the risk of spreading infection like popping pimples can do.

It is best not to pop your pimples, instead to opt for a clinically proven over the counter acne treatment if you want to get rid of pimples fast.
